Exciting New Oasis at Waterbom Bali

Get ready to drop, spin and fly on 4 thrilling new slides in the brand-new Oasis Gardens at Waterbom, in the heart of Kuta. The 1.3-hectare area has been purpose-designed with a new lagoon pool and sunken pool bar, tropical garden areas, a winding slide tower centrepiece with cantilevered viewing platform poolside and garden gazebos, new cafe and more!

The new slides bring even more excitement to Asia’s #1 waterpark (as voted in the TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards 2023). The Tailspin sends riders in a downward spiral through a rainbow tube into two half bowls, tilted for maximum turn speed, which propels them up a wall to catch some serious height and views. The gravity-defying slide, The Drop is a suspenseful inner tube ride through the dark that starts from an impressive 17-meter height and ends in a heart-stopping 8-meter free drop (with 2 drop options). The iconic Boomerang—a crowd favourite—has been reborn, bigger and better than ever with its translucent rainbow tube shooting riders into a jaw-dropping 9.2-meter vertical drop before launching them directly into a giant wall ride. All slides can be braved solo, or ridden with a friend for double the fun.

All slides are accessed from a monumental 20-metre-tall winding slide tower, featuring a cantilevered viewing platform with tree-top views over the park and new lagoon pool. Along with this new large pool, a tropical relaxation area featuring sun beds and gazebos, outdoor spa and massage area and sunken pool bar with swim-up access all offer a slice of serenity for those looking for more peaceful experiences. Thrill seekers and lounge lizards alike can enjoy a range of dishes across Western, Pan-Asian and Indonesian favourites from the Oasis Café under the 50-seat outdoor dining pergola.

First opening its doors in 1993, Waterbom Bali is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023 – perfectly timed as tourists return in full force to the island. The original vision from founder Santo Gulino of an eco-friendly waterpark built on the foundations of the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana (harmony with nature, humans and spirituality) is now carried on by his son, CEO Sayan Gulino.

“This expansion is phase 1 of several new updates to the park to allow us to offer more variety and enjoyment for visitors. We aim to continuously enhance our guest’s experience within the park and innovate with environmentally sustainable developments, ensuring that Waterbom remains a must-visit destination in Bali, with a minimal ecological footprint.” – Sayan Gulino, CEO.

The new Oasis Gardens area was collectively designed by the Waterbom management team, local architects and landscape designers around existing trees on the site. Sayan even hand-picked six large signature native trees, and over 1000 tropical plants were sourced from nearby Kediri in East Java and transported to Oasis Gardens to increase the park’s biodiversity.

Since 2017, Waterbom has been working with sustainability consultants Mantra to reduce the company’s eco footprint and work towards net-zero carbon goals. The design of this new area follows the company’s Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) plan and includes many sustainable initiatives, such as energy-efficient pumps, solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system.

With this latest addition, the park now offers over 5 hectares of fun and eco-friendly water adventures. The next stage planned is a new family and kid’s area due for opening in 2024.
